The Contractor Exam Prep Course is designed to be used at home and requires the user to have access to a home computer (with Windows as the operating system), and an internet connection. The program will not run on a Mac (Apple computer). To take full advantage of the program, you should have speakers connected to your computer to hear the narration, but, it is not required to use the program. To explain the exam process, the test administrator for the state is PSI Exams. Their test questions come from a list of reference books required by the state. Every time an exam is given, the computer selects the designated amount of questions for your exam from a larger pool of questions and prepares your exam. The questions are chosen randomly, making the exam different every time.

To start using our Contractor Exam Prep Course you simply insert the Course CD into your computer. The program will begin automatically, but, will only proceed when you click to advance to the next page. You advance at your own pace, hi-liting, underlining and tabbing known test areas in your books. All information is updated as it becomes available.

Practice test questions for your particular license are listed in our Home Study Guide, along with exam strategies that will add points to your final score. Also, our “How to Read Blueprints” manual is included with the Home Study Guide and is great for people who are new to construction. We also have a presentation on construction math - how to solve the typical types of math related questions you may see with the blueprints.

For a quick start, begin using the Audio CD immediately. Most people leave the CD in their car to listen to while driving. The Audio CD contains all the questions and answers from the Home Study Guide. Having the ability to hear the questions and answers repeatedly gives you a huge advantage over those who attended a two day seminar.

We are told the best part of our program is our Practice Exam CD. And like the state exam, it is different every time. Just slip it into your computer and the exam will begin automatically. South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama and Nevada do have to select whether to take the Trades Exam or the Business exam. North Carolina combines their Trades and Business into one single exam. When you complete the exam, you will receive your score. Also, you will have the option to print the questions you missed for an additional study tool.
