State Requirements & Application

*Any prime contractor or sub contractor working on projects where the cost of labor and materials is more than $2,500 is required to have the appropriate Arkansas contractors license.* Only the General Contractor license has a minimum net worth requirement. The minimum net worth for a GC unlimited is $150,000 and a GC Limited Tier must have a minimum net worth of $25,000. The limited tier license is only for contracts $500,000 or less.* The General Contractor must have at least $500,000 worth of general liability insurance. * Must have at least four years of proven active experience, or a four degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management.

If you have already taken and passed the NASCLA trades exam the Arkansas Business Law Exam is not required. If you are looking to obtain a license in the state you can obtain the license by either taking the Arkansas Business Law and Project Management Exam or take the NASCLA Trades Exam. (Which also is accepted in 15 other states)
